In 2016, a group of Praia D’El Rey owners got together to play Bridge in the Praia D’El Rey Golf Clubhouse. This has now evolved into a slightly more formal club that meets on most Tuesdays commencing at 6.00pm and finishing around 8.30pm in the clubhouse. The format for the evening varies, depending the number of people playing. All levels are welcome, including novices. It is hoped that classes will be organised in due course.
The club has its own boards and bidding boxes, so everything is provided.
The club also has its own Facebook group, PdR Bridge Group, where events are announced. Anyone wishing to play is strongly advised to register with the group. They will then be informed whenever an evening is planned and are asked to acknowledge whether or not they will attend. This makes it much easier for the organisers.
There may be some Bridge teaching opportunities for beginners. Details will be announced on the Facebook page.

Golf & Bridge – A New Competition in PDR
On Sunday 25th March 2018, the first combined Bridge and Golf Tournament initiated by Annette & Uwe Schaipp took place at Praia D’El Rey.
Annette & Uwe report that “12 enthusiastic Bridge and Golf players started in the early afternoon playing 9 holes of golf in Chapman format. The weather was nice and sunny but the strong wind made the holes 10-18 difficult to play. After a short break we started the Bridge Tournament at 5 pm playing 12 boards. Annette scored the Bridge results and Golf Club Captain Rune Lundberg took care of the Golf scoring. At 8pm we all met again for a nice dinner and prize giving at the PDR Clubhouse Restaurant. The entry fee was handed over to the Captains Charity. In total it was a very enjoyable event and we're all looking forward for a second tournament”.
